Foxcote Manor Saved from Scrap and Restoration

Youve Got to Start Somewhere 7822 seen on Sunday 15th October 1985, not long after arriving from Oswestry.
Manor in bits June 1986 sees volunteers around 7822 stood in Llangollen yard, while the rest of the country was watching England lose to Maradona's hand!
The Boiler Arrives Foxcote Manor's cosmetically restored boiler is delivered to Llangollen MPD in May 1985.

Llangollen New Manor Shed Llangollen MPD in November 1987, the Manor having moved from outside into her new shed where her overhaul took place.
First Moves Since the 1960's Foxcote Manor emerges from her shed in 1987, this was her first move under her own power since steam days. Here she carried a familiar headboard as a crowd gathered around her to enjoy an eagerly anticipated day.

7822 Heads Odney Manor 7822 heads Odney over the Dee Bridge on the same weekend in 1989, the railway was only 2.5 miles in length at this time as the railway continued to grow.

June 2009

June 2009 A slimmer me (right) looking on, not long after I became a volunteer and member at Llangollen, I blame 7822!	June 2009 My first ever visit to Llangollen saw a gang working on 7822 during her overhaul.	June 2009 A cold 7822 standing in the yard as the lads get stuck in.
Hooked I remember being drawn to 7822, having never seen a loco up close I was in awe of this wonderful machine.	June 2009 Still wearing Danny Rowlands adaptations and looking great in green!

2011

The Return of the Manor - Spring 2011

Dawn on Shed 7822 stands on her own road beside 80072 (fresh from restoration and running in). 7822 was fresh from overhaul, with no time for trials. Check out the quartered buffers by Martin Soames, looking good!	Erlestoke Heavy Freight Erlestoke Manor was due to join 7822 on her return but when this was no longer possible we didn't want to disappoint and made a 2-8-0 Manor out of 3802, mums the word!	Storming Towards Berwyn 7822 and 3802 round the curve spectacularly at Pentrefelin on the same run, 7822 performed well all weekend in fact!
Yard Commotion 7822 stands ahead of 3802 in the que at the spring gala 2010, FMS member Steve Carter is driving the GWR 8F. FMS member Jeff Albiston can be seen on 7822's footplate getting ready to set off.	Shes Back 7822 passes 44806 as she heads for Berwyn Bank on her first passenger run since overhaul. It took a huge effort from FMS member and Llangollen Railway staff to get 7822 back in time but looking at this it was well worth the push!	7822 passing a midland freight

On her way to the cutters torch A weathered manor stands under the old bridge at Glyndyfrdwy on her way to Woodhams being towed by a class 31. I can tell you the clag was thick! The crew were Graham Hoyland, Ray Grey, Mat Grindley and were joined by footplate raffle winner Sammie Kay.	7822 sets back 50 years	Dont Let Me Die 7822 stands at Carrog on the 31st of July 2011 on her way for scrap. A lot of punters thought she actually was!

7822 Visits the North Yorkshire Moors Railway

December - Santa Specials

7822 Starts the Specials FMS members Iain Ross and Steve Carter were the engine crew on the first day of the Santa Specials. 7822's Boiler Repairs 2013-6

7822 Boiler Warming Our boiler stands in the yard in early January 2016 as the boiler is reintroduced to heat!	Safety valve fitted 7822's safety valve now refitted to the boiler in December 2016 inside the Manor shed (Llaneng boiler shop).	Empty Tubeplate 7822's steel tubeplate bereft of tubes in November 2015.
Taking Out the Superheater 7822's smokebox shows that the superheater header has been removed and the elements are set to follow. Mid 2015.	Warming Fire 7822's boiler being warmed for the first time in early January 2016.	Smokebox Door Tom, Tommy and Joe work on restoring the smokebox door in the summer of 2015.
Removing the Superheater Tom pops out of the smokebox next to Martin as the process of removing the superheater takes place in mid 2015.	Expanding Tubes Inside the smokebox in November 2015, the tubes are in the process of being expanded.	First Fire Foxys first fire in 2 and a half years, lit in early January 2016 to start taking her through the heat cycles.

Drilled out The new throatplate drilled out and ready to be re-stayed.	Intense The worst part of the job for the engineers at Llaneng, heating the metal up and then beating it into shape. We are grateful for their effort.	Re-united 7822s boiler alongside 6430.
